In 1951 a community vision came to fruition when Walt and George Grawan, with the help of nearly all of the churches and service clubs in the city, gave the city its first ever Independence Day Fireworks Celebration. The first year this show was seen there were nearly 5,000 people in attendance and it was held at Washington Elementary School.

As the years progressed it made its way to the Reedley High School Football field. After many years at Reedley High School the show moved yet again to the Reedley Sports Park. Over the years the location may have changed, but the hard work and dedication that is needed to make this show a success has not.

Every year The dedicated committee members take to the streets doing their best to raise the needed funds to keep the show alive. To all of those who have helped or donated in the past or present, Thank you For helping to remind us all that Freedom! is something that we must cherish
